One of my favorite art cars I saw at the spark! festival was really a van.

Art cars are made by ordinary people and are often driven and owned by their creator… Instead of focusing on transforming the inside of the vehicle, the owner radically changes the exterior of the car. There were so many cool exhibits at the festival, including “The Night Garden,” “Community Still-Life in Clay,” and my absolute favorite, art cars!Īccording to the article “ Artistic Autos: Art Cars,”Īn art car usually begins with an old or used vehicle that is need of repair. Nolagirl and I attended this March 2018 festival in Mesa, AZ meant to celebrate “the imaginative spark in all of us.” Be sure to visit their website for a complete list of exhibitions and upcoming events and follow them on twitter at *All images are courtesy and copyright of Mesa Arts Centers and Hassan Kareem for portrait of Ear Candy.Folks who’ve been reading this blog since the spring may remember a post I wrote in May about spark!
